The 3rd amendment to the Call for Proposals "Pilot Project for the Development of Green Infrastructure and/or Circular Management of Space and Buildings" has been published. The deadline for submission of project proposals is December 31, 2024 at 12:00 p.m., and potential Applicants can ask questions in the EU funds system no later than December 15, 2024 for the purpose of obtaining additional clarifications and explanations.
The workshop was held in the form of a conference lecture, and its aim was to present the Green Infrastructure Register as well as the schedule for future educational workshops in regional centers in the Republic of Croatia.
At the beginning of the workshop, the attendees were greeted by Irena Križ Šelendić, Director of the Directorate for Energy Efficiency in Buildings, projects and programs of the European Union at the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets, followed by presentations where the Physical Planning Information System (ISPU) and its modules and the Register of Green Infrastructure were presented.
In her introductory speech, Director Križ Šelendić commented, among other things, on the current events within the Call "Pilot Project for the Development of Green Infrastructure and/or Circular Management of Space and Buildings", where 8 Grant Agreements for projects in the amount of EUR 6.7 million have been signed so far, and given that the available allocation has increased, she noted that the Call has been reopened with a deadline for submitting projects by December 31, 2024 and available with an allocation of 15.5 million euros.
She also pointed out that within the Call "Development of Green Urban Renewal Strategies", 94 green urban renewal strategies with a total value of EUR 2.5 million will be developed, which, in accordance with the Guidelines for the Development of Green Urban Renewal Strategies developed by this Ministry, finance the development of strategic bases for municipalities and cities related to the achievement of green infrastructure development goals, adaptation to climate change and strengthening resilience to risks.
Namely, in the coming period, funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026 and the Competitiveness and Cohesion Program 2021-2027, in the amount of almost EUR 135 million, will play an irreplaceable role in their successful implementation, and the Green Infrastructure Register, a new module of the ISPU, which is being developed in cooperation with GDi d.o.o., will play an irreplaceable role in their successful implementation.
The Register of Green Infrastructure will ensure the establishment of a unique and transparent system for determining the initial state and monitoring the development of green infrastructure at the national level, which will enable the entry, maintenance and analysis of spatial data on green infrastructure, as well as the creation of a basis for the development of strategic documents in local self-government units and their spatial plans.
The ISPU and the Green Infrastructure Register, as one of its modules, will help ensure that by 31 December 2030 there is no loss of urban green areas and city canopy cover, which is an obligation arising from Regulation (EU) 2024/1991 on nature restoration of 24 June 2024.
Participation in educational workshops is free of charge, and is intended for employees of the administrative bodies of local self-government units who will be in charge of entering data on green infrastructure in urban areas into the Register, designers involved in the preparation and development of green infrastructure projects, as well as officials of this Ministry.
The schedule of future educational workshops is available HERE.
